I started learning python around 2017, as a means of automating some of my more repetitive tasks as home and at work. Such as web scraping and processing spreadsheets. It provided an easy way (relative to bash scripting) to perform more complex tasks as well. Like pushing news articles off the web and reading them to me.
Python 3.7 has earned a special place in my toolbox, because of its straightforwardness and easy to understand syntax. Writing adhoc scripts has become so much easier, now I have more time left over for adding new tools and skills to my toolkit.
